As we march toward the Brisbane 2032 Olympics and navigate the record-breaking heat of 2026, the conversation around urban infrastructure has shifted. We are no longer just asking "How do we pave this road?", we are asking"How do we stop this road from heating up our city?"

The 60°C Reality

In the height of an Australian summer, traditional asphalt can absorb up to 90% of solar radiation. On a 35°C day, surface temperatures on our streets can soar past60°C. This isn't just a comfort issue; it’s a public health crisis and an infrastructure liability known as theUrban Heat Island (UHI) Effect.

When I speak to Engineers and Asset Managers , their biggest concern is "Lifecycle Cost."
